Starting A Australian Server
Hi people, and i just thought that i would start up a petition(if thats how you spell that) on getting an Australian server. This i think would help australian members become more friendly. So if you can write a small thing about getting one, or if you can just sign this, please do so, i will be greatful. Thanks

There's no need, you all speak english, so the american/english servers are fine for you.

No offense to the Australians, but I don't think there's enough of you to warrant a whole server. Most outposts would be empty and everyone could probably fit in a couple alliances and towns could be held in Cantha with very little effort when you stand unopposed.

I'm Australian and this is a horrible idea. There aren't enough Australians playing GW.

Knightsaber Sith remember, Assumptions make an ass out of you!
Truthfully it wouldn't be the biggest server but there are alot of australians who play GW. And most aren't in Aus only alliances or guilds!
dgb, there are more then enough kicking around.
But the facts do stand.
Towns would be easy to gain and keep.
And there is little to no reason for our own server!
What we do need is to be placed in an english majority default not EU.
I started a thread that suggested that
/Signed because I'm an aussie! loyal to the grave! :P And this should get atleast one person signing :P

The other Australian agrees so it's more of a fact than assumption.

9 out of 10 nutritionist recommend sugary foods for children!
What does that have to do with it?.... Its another baseless and almost impossible fact to prove. Get a complete number of all Australian players active in the last 1yr, place them into the max number of slots in a guild and then place the guilds into alliances, to prove your ill informed and idiotic assumption.
And I'll say sorry for suggesting you were an ass!
No offence ofcourse.
I know numbers are an issue, but really! Your condemning an idea based on geographics; To which you have displayed no relation. And yet see fit to comment and offer 'possible theoretical evidence' as your basis!

Fine. Look at Japan and Taiwan. They have their own servers and ya know what, they never get favor so they never get to go to fow/uw. And I wouldn't be surprised if most of their towns were empty too. I'm trying to help you guys out. But if you'd rather condemn your own people to a world where finding a group is difficult and getting to uw/fow is near impossible, be my guest.

Post note: The above quoted is the original post I replied to, it was later changed.
Are you reading my posts? Wait its evident your not.
I think it's a bad idea, Just signed it because it should atleast get one vote.
my issue is with the theoretical evidence as your basis or disagreeing

I don't think it will be a good idea simply because Anet has to sell their games every 6 months to pay for the upkeep of their servers. If they add another server, thats something else they have to pay for, which will likely put them on an even tighter schedule to release even more games.

What's your point? I can gurantee you that there are less Australian players than everyone else on american/european/and korean servers. Stop acting like I'm being racist against Australians. The fact is geographical land mass does equate to total population. And that population does equate to just how many Australians play GW. Like I said I think Australians would have a lot easier and funner time playing on the American/European servers, but if you'd rather have your own; that's fine with me. And if you say your only signing cause you're Australian, then stop replying if you're not going to actually support the idea.

It can't be proven, ergo an irrelevant allegation and moot.
Sorry I can't make it any more clearer.
I'll stop replying to your posts, only to save beating a dead horse.

There's roughly twice as many people living in spain or italy than in australia, now for a moment assuming there's also roughly a same percentage of people playing GW, that would mean that the australian servers would be twice as empty as any italian or spanish server. And those are usually not crowded in the first place, except in major cities. In practice it's probably not worth lobbying for because a few weeks later you might already regret it being in deserted outposts on your own.

I usually play around 6pm - midnight Sydney time, most Americans already sleep around that time. So American server is pretty much dominated by Aussies, some Europeans and some restless Americans. You can tell how hard to do missions around that time since less people playing (compared to in the morning which is evening in America) ... tho I couldnt care less dealing with PUGs (henchies/guildies ftw). Now you want your own server? Get real

There are huge Australasian guilds out there, I can only think of TTA because they occasionally win HoH, but as for getting their own server, I think I'll stay in america (or europe by default...) for the favour bonus.
I'm from NZ, Im quite happy where my characters are atm.
omg Roshi?>? How is that new alliance of yours coming along^^?

To the detractors who think there aren't enough Aussie players to warrant their own servers:
GET VENT! Actually, get TeamSpeak while you're at it. And a mic.
/signed for Australian servers. I think its long overdue, especially in light of the new Pay to Upgrade system.

how does getting vent support your idea that there are enough aussie players?
There's no way everyone is going to support this idea with the penalties of getting favour once in a full moon.
Pay to Upgrade? Upgrade what?
